Manolo Valdés brings his works to Pietrasanta


In Pietrasanta from June 16 to September 16, 2018 is the exhibition 'Poetics of Translation,' featuring 40 works by Manolo Valdés.

Pietrasanta has kicked off the “Poetics of Translation” exhibition, an event scheduled from June 16 to Sept. 16, 2018 that brings 40 works by Manolo Valdés to the Tuscan city, some of which are being exhibited in Italy for the first time. Among these works, five are exhibited in Piazza Duomo, two in the churchyard of the church of Sant’Agostino, and one also on the Tonfano Wharf. Inside the church and the halls of Sant’Agostino are works in wood, bronze, aluminum and also large paintings. The curator of the exhibition is Kosme María de Barañano, a historical connoisseur of the artist.

Some of the works on display come from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Kunstmuseum in Berlin. The exhibition will be open daily, except Mondays, from 7 p.m. to midnight, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight, from July 1 to Sept. 9 open Tuesday through Sunday from 7 p.m. to midnight, and from Sept. 11 to Sept. 30 open Tuesday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
