Low Form, a journey into the technological imagination of today's artists, on display at MAXXI in Rome

From Oct. 20, 2018 to Feb. 24, 2019, MAXXI in Rome is hosting the exhibition Low Form, a journey into the technological imagination of today's artists.

The Low Form exhibition is on view at MAXXI in Rome until February 24, 2019. Curated by Bartolomeo Pietromarchi, “Low Form” is a journey into the technological and surreal imagery of today’s artists among computer-generated dreams, creative algorithms and avatars questioning the meaning of existence.

Not just an exhibition but a laboratory for study and discussion of themes and issues related to our relationship with technology and the incredible scenarios opened up by its evolution, Low Form. Imaginaries and Visions in the Age of Artificial Intelligence is an immersive, multimedia and multisensory journey. At a time when technologies are evolving ever more rapidly and questions are being raised about how far the relationship between man and machine can go, the exhibition fields the visions of 16 international artists who show a present and a future whose representation is the child of the technological unconscious and of a dilated imaginary, in which traditional analog references and the hyperconnected digital knowledge of our times are mixed.

The artists in the exhibition are Zach Blas & Jemima Wyman, Carola Bonfili, Ian Cheng, Cécile B. Evans, Pakui Hardware, Jamian Juliano-Villani, Nathaniel Mellors & Erkka Nissinen, Trevor Paglen, Agnieszka Polska, Jon Rafman, Lorenzo Senni, Avery K Singer, Cheyney Thompson, Luca Trevisani, Anna Uddenberg and Emilio Vavarella.
