London Police street art comes to exhibition in Rome

'How it works': an exhibition in Rome by The London Police street artist duo of Chaz Barrisson and Bob Gibson.

How it works is the title of the exhibition that Rome is dedicating to The London Police, a celebrated street art duo. Chaz Barrisson and Bob Gibson, these are their names, began their activity in 1998 and, in the span of 20 years, have created more than 100 street works in 35 different countries.Chaz Barrison gives life in his works to "LAD," a character that distinguishes the duo’s works, while Bob Gibson always deals with portraits and the architectural illustrations that used to surround this figure. Their works never deal with political, social or religious themes, preferring instead more ironic and light themes, as street art is wont to do.

“How It Works” is the first exhibition dedicated to them in Rome and displays 15 works on canvas created by the two artists especially for the occasion, with the intent of showing, precisely, how their work works.

Curated by Giuseppe Pizzuto, “How It Works” is on display at Hetra’s Villino Rattazzi from May 26 to June 22, 2018.Hours: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. Free admission.

Pictured is "All hail Sir David of Bowie" hand-painted with indelible ink on canvas (100cm x 100cm)
