From August 30 to September 15, 2019, as part of the Artesiena schedule, the Cesare Olmastroni Gallery at Palazzo Patrizi in Siena is hosting the exhibition Itineraries through and beyond time. About thirty works by the Sienese artist Giuliano Censini (Sinalunga, 1951) will be on display: each work bears witness to an artistic and existential journey, where memory is the link between what has been lost and what continues to be, a superimposition of color and matter. Through the progression of layers, an inseparable unity, a single body, is achieved.
The artist creates his works by dialoguing with himself, questioning his memories to bring back night scenes, seascapes, familiar landscapes. Censini’s time is a time rediscovered through painting, a density of moments, tensions and inner dynamics that the artist translates into color, matter and sign. Each painting thus takes on the meaning of a revelation, a re-enactment, a state of mind to be given back to the world.
The exhibition will be open to the public daily from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and will have free admission.
