From May 13 to October 8, 2017 at the A.Pizzinato Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Pordenone comes Italian Pop.
During"The Myth of Pop. Italian Paths," an exhibition curated by Silvia Pegoraro, about 70 works, some never before presented to the public, by artists who followed the “Italian way” of Pop Art will be on display.
The centers of Pop Art in Italy were mainly two: Rome and Milan; exponents of the Roman school included Mimmo Rotella, Franco Angeli, Tano Festa, Mario Schifano, Cesare Tacchi, and Renato Mambor.
The heart of Italian Pop Art in Milan was Studio Marconi, to which Valerio Adami, Emilio Tadini, and Lucio Del Pezzo were linked.
Italian Pop Art worked on cultural stereotypes and not only on objects and images of mass communication.
The exhibition is promoted and organized by the Department of Culture of the City of Pordenone, in collaboration with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Cultural Heritage Authority, with the contribution of the Friuli Foundation, and with the support of Crédit Agricole Friuladria and Itas Mutua.
