The exhibition aims to explore the human and artistic dimension of Lucio Dalla, in his expressions less known to the general public. A poet of song, a multifaceted talent, Dalla has marked the history of Italian music. He reinvented jazz, pop, opera mixing them with creativity. He was a singer and composer, but also a theater director, TV showman, film actor, writer and gallery owner.
The exhibition event is the result of a long search for materials, many of which are being exhibited for the first time, intended to document Lucio Dalla’s entire human and artistic journey. Two more stops of the traveling exhibition will be planned in 2023, in Naples and Milan, to mark the 80th anniversary of his birth.
The exhibition showcases photos, memorabilia, stage clothes, his famous hats, posters of the films in which he starred, playbills, paintings, many of them made by his artist friends, testimonies from those who loved him, and the many and varied passions such as art, cinema, theater, the sea, motors and sports, also making use of multimedia systems.
