From December 8, 2019 to March 1, 2020, the Carispezia Foundation in La Spezia is hosting anexhibition-biography dedicated to one of the all-time female icons of cinema, Audrey Hepburn. The exhibition, titled Intimate Audrey, was created by the famous actress’s son, the symbol of elegance and sophistication, Sean Hepburn Ferrer, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of his mother’s birth.

After Brussels and Amsterdam, the exhibition arrives for the first time also in Italy, in an arrangement designed specifically for the Foundation’s exhibition spaces, offering a never-before-seen and private portrait of Audrey Hepburn that will enhance the woman, thus the human and private side, behind the icon.

Divided into several sections, including photos, personal memories, writings, drawings and objects, the exhibition will trace some of the most significant moments in the actress’s life: her childhood in Brussels with her family of origin; her subsequent moves to London, the United States, and Italy; her marriage in Switzerland to Mel Ferrer and the birth of her son Sean; her friends; and her years of boundless commitment to philanthropy, which earned her a humanitarian Oscar.

Also on view are clips from her most famous films and video interviews of the actress. All told “behind the scenes,” through the eyes of her son Sean, and focusing on an everyday Audrey Hepburn, woman and mother.
