The Rooms of Photography is dedicating from August 30, 2023 to January 7, 2024 a new exhibition to Paolo Pellegrin (Rome, 1964), among the best-known living Italian photographers. Paolo Pellegrin. L’orizzonte degli eventi, this is the title of the exhibition curated by Annalisa D’Angelo and Denis Curti, is structured in several parts that dialogue with each other, following the evolution of the artist’s research and the themes that animate the working and creative path of Paolo Pellegrin, who for decades has been engaged in documenting conflicts in war zones and returning a complex visual perception of reality. From Gaza to Beirut, but also from Rome, to Japan, to America, climate change in Namibia, Iceland and Greenland and finally, the conflict in Ukraine where Pellegrin has traveled several times over the past year. His images aim to restore the fragility and strength of a humanity that manifests its most intimate emotions, in dialogue with the greatness of nature, in an attempt to present eviscerate one of the crucial themes of contemporaneity: the relationship between man and his natural environment.

Winner of eleven editions of the World Press Photo Award and member of theMagnum agency since 2005, Paolo Pellegrin, through his reportages, documents the main events of our time through the medium of photography. He also delves through his photography into the effects of climate change, reflecting on the power of nature and focusing on the fragile balance underlying life on Earth.
