From Feb. 29 to Dec. 19, 2020, Parma Italian Capital of Culture 2020 will host the first solo exhibition in Italy of British artist Rebecca Louise Law, curated by OTTN Projects and sotenued by Davines, Chiesi Farmaceutici and Cosmoproject as part of the Pharmacopea project.
Florilegium, this is the title of the exhibition, will be held between the Church of San Tiburzio and theBotanical Garden and is intended to be animmersive and uniqueexperience as the highlight event of Pharmacopea, a project to rediscoverParma’s chemical-pharmaceutical identity.
It will be a large, evolving installation designed specifically for the Church of San Tiburzio, which is part of the Antica Farmacia San Filippo Neri; thus, the themes of theenvironment and the relationship between man and nature will be addressed. The exhibition will continue in the Historical Archives of the Congregazopne di Carità, where several sculptures will be presented, and in the greenhouse of the Botanical Garden, which will host the video work Death Albine.
Rebecca Louise Law is known for her larger-than-life floral installations and site-specific sculptures.
A live performance is scheduled for March 21, supported by ParmaColorViola, and several initiatives have been organized during the exhibition that can be viewed at www.pharmacopeaparma.it
