In Naples, Van Gogh's art becomes an immersive and sensory experience

From Dec. 13, 2024 to Feb. 2, 2025, the Arena Flegrea Indoor in Naples will host Van Gogh - The Immersive Experience, a multisensory journey through the works of Vincent Van Gogh, featuring 3D projections and virtual reality.

From December 13, 2024 to February 2, 2025, the exhibition Van Gogh - The Immersive Experience arrives at theArena Flegrea Indoor in Naples. The exhibition, produced by Arena Flegrea and Alta Classe Lab, presents a multisensory immersion into the life and works of Vincent Van Gogh (Zundert, 1853 - Auvers-sur-Oise, 1890). Using 3D mapping projections, virtual reality viewers and an interactive educational tour, visitors can experience a day alongside the Dutch artist. The event is an opportunity to explore the painting, the color that distinguishes his works, and the more intimate and human side of Van Gogh.

The immersive exhibition takes visitors on a journey through Vincent Van Gogh’s best-known works and provides a 360-degree experience that combines art and storytelling. The journey begins with Van Gogh’s Bedroom, moves outside with The White House. It continues by advancing into the fields with an encounter with the peasant women in La Siesta, to admiring Wheatfield with Crows and A Wheatfield with Cypresses. Toward the end of the day comes The Starry Night, before closing the circle with Starry Night over the Rhone and a return to the artist’s room. Van Gogh - The Immersive Experience redefines the concept of an exhibition and engages the audience on an emotional and perceptual level. The experience then invites visitors to walk inside Van Gogh’s works, thanks to 3D mapping projections that animate every detail.

The project makes the works accessible through a contemporary language that combines art and technology. It does not replace traditional exhibitions, but enhances them and offers a new and interactive dimension. Van Gogh - The Immersive Experience guides the viewer on a journey where art becomes tangible and immersive making the visitor the absolute protagonist. In a constant dialogue between the past and the future, the exhibition interacts with the viewer and invites him or her to enter inside the works of one of the most beloved painters of all time-a new way of knowing and experiencing Art. In addition to Van Gogh-The Immersive Experience, the Brick Live exhibitions dedicated to the world of Lego, which can be visited from Dec. 6, 2024 to Feb. 2, 2025, and The World of Banksy, focusing on the works of the Bristol-based artist, are already on display at the Arena Flegrea Indoor, and can be visited until May 4, 2025.
