In Naples, Intragallery presents the double solo exhibition of Peter Flaccus and Luca Padroni

In Naples until Nov. 11, the exhibition 'Mondi,' a double solo show by Peter Flaccus and Luca Padroni, is on view at the Intragallery gallery.

Contemporary art gallery, Intragallery hosts the exhibition Mondi by Peter Flaccus and Luca Padroni. Two artists, who despite seemingly radical differences in approach, are in tune on many aspects of painting. Both give weight to a rigorous pictorial organization, consisting of insistent, subtle lines, carefully calibrated colors, and sharp discontinuities in the specified spaces of their paintings.

Fundamental to both painters is an artistic commitment based on the expressive possibility of material manipulation that belongs to the painter’s craft. The artistic career of American painter Peter Flaccus began in the early 1970s in New York, following his studies atAmherst College and Indiana University. In the early 1990s Flaccus moved to Rome, where he still lives today. In Italy his work focused from the beginning on researching new techniques and abstract languages, including encaustic. Inspired by this ancient artistic technique, the artist studies it, experiments with it, discovering innovative, refined and unprecedented solutions, signs of a novelty in the context of contemporary art. Peter Flaccus’ long exhibition career began in New York at the Zabriskie Gallery, and continued in Italy and Europe with exhibitions in Rome, Bologna, Bari, Naples, Switzerland and France.

The younger Luca Padroni, born in the 1970s, lives and works in Rome. He attended the Slade School of Fine Arts in London, and since then his painting has evolved in a primarily figurative direction, characterized by a subjective and vital narrative. He composes both very large format paintings using a daring collage technique, and paintings of more modest formats painted with mellow oil paints guided by an increasingly virtuosic hand. Luca Padroni’s first and numerous exhibitions date back to the late 1990s both in Italy and abroad. In 2017 he inaugurated the very important exhibition I valori personali curated by Claudio Crescentini at the Museo Macro di Testaccio in Rome.
The exhibition is open until November 21.
