Fondazione Fiera Milano is presenting for the first time to the public, with the collaboration of Intesa Sanpaolo and Gallerie d’Italia, a selection of works from its collection, which, since 2012, has been built up through acquisitions made in the context of miart, the international modern and contemporary art fair in Milan. Each year, in fact, a different jury composed of directors and curators from international museums is invited to select works of art present at the fair with the aim of increasing Fondazione Fiera Milano’s collection.
The exhibition Prospettiva Arte Contemporanea, from March 14 to May 7, 2019 at Gallerie d’Italia in Milan, returns a cross-section of Italian and international artistic research through the works of artists belonging to several generations and active from the second half of the 20th century to the present day. A spokesman for different artistic languages, the 43 works belong to painting as well as sculpture, film, photography, drawing and installation, and together they build a path traversed by themes such as the relationship between natural and cultural imagery, the mechanisms of vision and representation, the tension between abstraction and figuration, between words and gestures, and between space and architecture. Artists in the exhibition include Piero Gilardi, Giuseppe Gabellone, Nick Mauss, Matt Mullican, Monica Bonvicini and Marisa Merz to name a few.
Hours: Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Closed Mondays. Last admission: one hour before closing. Ticket price: full 10 €, reduced 7 €, special reduced 5 €: Free every first Sunday of the month.
