In Carrara, photographer Enrico Amici's solo exhibition dedicated to the identity and transformations of the territory

From Aug. 31 to Sept. 30, 2019, Studio Ricci Arte in Carrara is hosting the exhibition 'Enrico Amici. Image of Places and the Formation of Territorial Identity'

From Aug. 31 until Sept. 30, 2019 in Carrara, Studio Ricci Arte Contemporanea is hosting a solo exhibition by photographer Enrico Amici (La Spezia, 1963) entitled Image of Places and Formation of Territorial Identity, the La Spezia artist’s first exhibition in the city of marble. The exhibition hosts a series of images that are the result of the research on the relationship between photography and places, which for many years has engaged Enrico Amici in works that concern, as the title of the exhibition suggests, the identity and transformations of the territory.

The exhibition, curated by Nicola Ricci, features twelve medium-format photographs, which belong to different projects of the author and show urbanistically and architecturally transformed places before, during and after construction sites. The author declines the photographic language in an essential and minimal synthesis, and is inspired not only by his master Sergio Fregoso but also by the landscape photography of masters such as Guido Guidi and Luigi Ghirri and, from a theoretical point of view, by the work of Gabriele Basilico. Photography, for Enrico Amici, is a tool of knowledge and practice through which to broaden cultural and existential horizons.

The exhibition is free admission. Hours: daily from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Information: 338 4417145, email nicolaricci1@virgilio.it.
