In 2019 Paestum on display in China

Agreement signed between Paestum Archaeological Park and Panlongcheng site: in 2019 in China an exhibition entirely dedicated to Paestum.

An agreement was signed today between the Paestum Archaeological Park and Panlongcheng, a significant Bronze Age site in China: the latter will host an exhibition dedicated entirely to Paestum in 2019, as an emblematic place of Mediterranean culture.

The director of the Paestum Archaeological Park, Gabriel Zuchtriegel, said, “For us this is a strategic operation, the results of which we will see in a few years: cultural tourism in China is growing, so now is the time to tell the story of Italian archaeological heritage in China. We are also excited to participate in an exchange between Italy and China on archaeological protection and research, a field where Italy can claim primacy, but where we can also discover other points of view and approaches thanks to our Chinese partners.”

Panlongcheng director Wan Lin is also pleased and said, “It is a unique emotion to be here among the magnificent temples of Paestum. During the exhibition in China, we will try to tell the Chinese public about the Magna-Greek architecture with the support of multimedia technologies.”
