At the Palazzina Azzurra in San Benedetto del Tronto, the exhibition Vedo nudo. Art between seduction and censorship.

The exhibition aims to be an artistic and conceptual historical journey to discover the many expressions and transformations of the nude and its perception, from the early 20th century to the present day. The nude has been addressed in painting, sculpture, video installations, graphics and photography, engaging the viewer in a game of subtle seduction and making him reflect on this theme, without forgetting the ironic aspect.

The works on display come from prestigious public and private collections and from nationally and internationally established contemporary artists. Among the works on display are Giuseppe Renda’sEcstasy, Osvaldo Licini’s Female Nude, Amedeo Modigliani’s Female Portrait, Cagnaccio San Pietro’s Allo specchio, Renato Guttuso’s Magdalene, Oliviero Toscani ’s nudes made for the campaign against anorexia and Novecento 2009, a large acrylic by Giuseppe Veneziano that takes up the iconographic tradition of allegory.

Other artists in the exhibition include Gian Paolo Barbieri, Piero Gemelli, Giuseppe Mastromatteo with their photographs, Rino Stefano Tagliaferro with the video Peep Show, Andrea Salvatori with his ceramics, The Bounty Killart with their sculptures, including a previously unpublished one, Claudio Cintoli, Scipione.

The exhibition is curated by Stefano Papetti, Elisa Mori and Giorgia Berardinelli and is promoted by the City of San Benedetto del Tronto in collaboration with theCultural Association Verticale d’Arte.

Hours: July 7 to Sept. 15, daily 6 p.m. to midnight; Sept. 16 to Oct. 6, Tuesday to Sunday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Closed Mondays.
