Grottaglie, in the province of Taranto, known as the"city of ceramics," will host the Ceramics Exhibition from June 23 to September 30, 2018.
Forty-six ceramic works from all over the world will be on display in this major exhibition set up in the halls of theOld Capuchin Convent.
This year’s theme is Earth as identity, place and matter: a place shared by all where clay, a primordial material, unites the world and man; clay is also a characteristic element of Grottaglie and is what gave rise to its ceramic tradition. In fact, ceramic craftsmanship is an essential element of this town’s identity.
Today, with its fifty potters’ workshops, Grottaglie is included in the list of Italy’s 37 cities of ceramics.
During the opening of the exhibition, the two winners will be decided by an international jury: the first place winner will win three thousand euros, while the second will win 500 euros and the possibility of exhibiting one of his reviews during the 2019 Ceramics Exhibition.
Hours: Daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
