Kicking off today at the Complesso del Vittoriano - Ala Brasini is the exhibition "The Great Masters. 100 Years of Leica Photography" to celebrate the Leica, the first 35 mm film camera.
More than 350 shots taken by the greatest photographers, from Henri Cartier-Bresson to Gianni Berengo Gardin, William Klein to Robert Frank, Robert Capa to Elliott Erwitt and many others, will be on display until Feb. 18, 2018, to pay homage to it.
Vintage cameras, vintage photographs, rare magazines and books and original documents will also be on display.
They will deepen the exhibition several meetings dealing with the great photographers featured with their shots in the exhibition: Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. meeting with Alessandra Mauro dedicated to Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Capa, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. Valerio Bispuri will talk about his project Paco, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. Piergiorgio Branzi will talk about about his career, on Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. photographer Lorenzo Castore and director Saverio Costanzo will talk about how a trip to India marked a turning point in their ability to see, and on Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. Gianni Berengo Gardin will receive the Leica Hall of Fame Award and retrace the stages of his career.
All meetings will be free of charge while places last. Participants will be given a coupon with which they can visit the exhibition with a reduced ticket price of 10 euros.
