Girolamo Ciulla's sculptures on display in Matera's rock churches

From June 29 to October 14, 2018 in the rock churches Madonna delle Virtù and San Nicola dei Greci in Matera, the XXXI edition of "Grandi Mostre nei Sassi, " a historic contemporary sculpture exhibition organized by Circolo culturale La Scaletta, will take place.

The protagonist of this edition will be Girolamo Ciulla with his exhibition"Dimore del Mito" curated by Beatrice Buscaroli.

Forty works in travertine and bronze will be exhibited in crypts, churches and monasteries carved out of calcarenite: an exhibition itinerary that will interweave myth, classical deities and symbols of Mediterranean culture.

The initiative is realized under the patronage of: Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, Basilicata Region, Basilicata Territorial Promotion Agency, Province of Matera, Municipality of Matera, Matera-Basilicata 2019 Foundation, University of Basilicata and Zétema Foundation, Matera.

Hours: Daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Tickets: Full 5 euros, reduced 3.50 euros.
