From March 9 to May 1, 2025, the ME Vannucci Gallery in Pistoia will be the stage for a new exhibition by Giovanni Termini (Assoro, 1972), entitled The Sleep of the Puddle. This new project, which comes two years after his last solo show, is the result of deep artistic work that continues the reflections developed in his previous exhibitions, such as La promessa del vuoto, held at the Pastificio Cerere in Rome, and his participation in the group show Senza mai sfiorire at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Palazzo Collicola in Spoleto. On this occasion, the exhibition is enriched with a critical text by Saverio Verini accompanying the visual journey.
At the heart of The Sleep of the Puddle is a reflection on the interconnection between the works and the world around them. Giovanni Termini, who has always been interested in the relationship between art and the environment, proposes in this exhibition a series of works that do not exist in isolation but, rather, are activated and amplified as a function of their interaction with the outside world. The choice of the title, The Puddle Sleep, is in itself an invitation to reflect on the dynamic and never static nature of Termini’s art. The sleep evoked by the artist is not the traditional, static and passive one, but rather represents a condition of waiting, of stillness that is never devoid of energy, but rather awakens and is activated in relation to its surroundings. The opening of the exhibition will be held on Sunday, March 9 from 12:00 to 7:30 p.m., and the exhibition will be on view until May 1, 2025, with opening hours from Wednesday to Friday from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.
