The Berengo Foundation in Venice will host Ai Weiwei ’s work “Gilded Cage” through Nov. 25. The work has already appeared last fall in New York ’s Central Park as part of the “Good Fences make Good Neighbors” series of public works, which, according to a note, is “aimed at a campaign to raise awareness of the global refugee crisis.”
The Venetian exhibition is just the starting point of an initiative that will use art as a tool to raise awareness of human rights. The project is sponsored by the Berengo Foundation and the European Inter-University Center for Human Rights and Democratization(EIUC). Open daily, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Ticket price: full 10 €, reduced 8 € (includes MEMPHIS - Plastic Field exhibition). For all information you can call +39 041 739 453, visit fondazioneberengo.org or send an email to comunicazione@berengo.com.
