The MAN Museum in Nuoro will host from March 9 to June 10, 2018 the exhibition curated by Chiara Gatti and Raffaella Resch entitled"The Propeller and the Light. The Futurists. 1912-1944".
An exhibition to allow the public to learn about the relationship betweenFuturism and women: more than one hundred works, including paintings, sculptures, textiles, applied art objects and papers, to analyze the artistic activity of women from the 1910s to the 1940s. The latter signed theoretical manifestos of Futurism, participated in exhibitions, and experimented with stylistic innovations.
The exhibition kicks off with the Futurist Woman’s Manifesto, published by Valentine de Saint-Point in 1912.
The topics covered range from the body and dance to flight and speed, from landscape and abstraction to forms and words.
