Until August 26, 2018, Palazzo Parasi in Cannobio (VB) hosts the exhibition"Genesis Minor" by Fulvio Di Piazza.

Through twenty works, one of the most original protagonists of today’s Italian figurative scene will be presented.
His characteristic feature consists of his phytomorphic creatures, environmental catastrophes and self-portraits concealed in the environment.

Curator Alberto Zanchetta says, “His grotesque creatures seem to originate from a fortuitous chance rather than from a normal evolutionary process; a demiurgic role, partly prophetic and partly funereal, alternating between vegetal luxuriance and the vapors and lapilli of self-destruction. Compared to the seven days of divine creation, a lesser, unorthodox Genesis takes over in these paintings, one that still ignores the existence of homo sapiens, although it reflects both its merits and its flaws. Well, Fulvio Di Piazza’s imagery offers us anthropic surrogates, steeped in invention and conflict that every viewer is invited to interpret from very close quarters (risking, indeed, becoming entangled in the rich density of the painting).”

Hours: Tuesday and Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Wednesday and Friday 4 to 7 p.m.; Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.; Sunday 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Free admission.
