From December 6, 2017 to April 8, 2018, the Gallerie d’Italia - Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano in Naples will host the exhibition"From De Nittis to Gemito. Neapolitans in Paris in the Years ofImpressionism."
The exhibition will present the development of Neapolitan painting through the artists who went to Paris or sent their works to the Salons and Universal Exhibitions in the second half of the 19th century.
First and foremost is De Nittis, an Apulian but Neapolitan by culture, who welcomed Neapolitan artists who came to Paris to his Parisian salon.
Works by Antonio Mancini, Vincenzo Gemito, Giuseppe Palizzi, Domenico Morelli, Gioacchino Toma, Francesco Netti, Francesco Paolo Michetti, Federico Rossano, Edoardo Tofano, Giacomo Di Chirico, and Alceste Campriani will be found.
