The Museo Novecento in Florence celebrates the 10th anniversary of its opening in 2014 with the exhibition Ritorni. From Modigliani to Morandi, conceived by Sergio Risaliti, curated by Eva Francioli, Chiara Toti and the director of the Museo Novecento himself. The exhibition will be on view from March 23 to Sept. 15, 2024 in the ex-Leopoldine rooms on the museum’s second floor and is dedicated to the history of one of the museum’s most prized collections: the Alberto Della Ragione Collection.
On the occasion of the exhibition, a self-portrait made by Amedeo Modigliani preserved at the Museu de Arte Contemporânea da USP Collection, São Paulo, Brazil, will arrive at the Museo Novecento. Some fifteen works by great masters of the Italian twentieth century that belonged to Alberto Della Ragione will also be brought together: in addition to Modì’sSelf-Portrait, Giorgio Morandi’s Metaphysical Still Life, Carlo Carrà ’s Camera Incantata and Renato Guttuso’s Crucifixion, all from major Italian and foreign museums, will be on display.
