The next exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi will be dedicated to Andrea del Verrocchio (Florence, 1435 - Venice, 1488). The exhibition, which will delve into the figure of the great Renaissance artist, who was a sculptor, goldsmith and painter and who was Leonardo da Vinci’s master, will be curated by two of the leading experts on the Tuscan Renaissance, Francesco Caglioti and Andrea De Marchi. The exhibition will bring together for the first time an important nucleus of the artist’s masterpieces, and comparative works by artists such as Perugino, Ghirlandaio, and, of course, Leonardo da Vinci will also come to Palazzo Strozzi. Palazzo Strozzi will therefore pay homage in its own way to the 500th anniversary of Leonardo’s death.
The Verrocchio exhibition will be held in collaboration with the Bargello National Museum, which in turn will host a section. The dates: from March 8, 2019 to July 14, 2019.
