On the occasion of the thirty-third Florence Biennale Internazionale dell’Antiquariato, Aria Art Gallery and Frascione Gallery present from Sept. 28 to Nov. 16, 2024 Timelessness, an exhibition that obliterates the space-time dimension with the aim of enriching ancient and contemporary masterpieces with new meanings. Timelessness will present about 30 works and will be articulated in the exhibition spaces of Aria Art Gallery and the European School of Economics, an official partner of BIAF.

The past and the future are the representation of this precise, infinite moment. Even a work of art created centuries ago is rediscovered and reinterpreted according to the canons of our time, attributed by experts who place it in a space-time shaped by the experience and understanding that have brought us to this moment. Likewise, the future is shaped and projected by the artist, as well as by each individual, through the actions performed in the present. For the artist, the “Here and Now” becomes the only authentic time, the basis on which to create works that escape time, spreading in all directions until they become timeless objects, capable of speaking to all humanity. With this approach, the exhibition combines different eras, works and artists to offer the public new keys to interpretation and unprecedented meanings.

The new edition of the Timelessness project, born in 2015 in conjunction with the 29th Florence Biennale Internazionale dell’Antiquariato, includes an exhibition divided into different themes, addressed by contemporary artists in dialogue with artists of the 16th, 17th and 17th centuries. The exhibition halls of Aria Art Gallery and the European School of Economics will feature the following themes: Architecture, Portraits, Still Life, Battles and St. John the Baptist, patron saint of the city of Florence.

The artists in the exhibition: Milija Čpajak, Elia D’Anna, Andrea Guastavino, Massimo Listri, Lorenzo Malfatti, Szymon Oltarzewski, Massimo Pulini, Sossio, Miloš Todorović, Federico Uribe, Wolfe von Lenkiewicz, Veljko Vučković, Karen Wilberding Diefenbach, Angelo Caroselli, Jacques Cortois, Raffaellino del Garbo, Bartolomeo Manfredi, Giuseppe Recco, Pandolfo Reschi, Cristoforo Savolini, Christoph Seckel, Bernardo Strozzi, and Lorenzo Tiepolo.
