The exhibition, played on the appeal to the topicality of routes and transits in the Mediterranean Sea, often relies on the immersive language achieved through digital reconstruction of ancient landscapes and contexts. It intends to suggest to the public the significance of the great port of Spina for the Etruscans of the fifth century B.C. and for the Mediterranean citizens of 2022.

The exhibition itinerary illustrates the exceptional nature of the Adriatic port of Spina, highlighting its similarities and differences with the great Etruscan settlements of the Tyrrhenian Sea and primarily with the twin city of Cerveteri, to illustrate its social structure, cultural and ethnic variety, expressions of aristocratic elites, port vocation and importance in the dynamics of ancient trade.

The exhibits come from the main Italian archaeological museums, while prestigious materials come from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, to whose presence in the exhibition the Emilia-Romagna Region also contributed.
