Fermo pays tribute to Dondero with eighty shots, many previously unpublished

Inaugurated in Fermo, at the new exhibition space at the Mario Dondero Terminal, the exhibition that aims to pay tribute to one of the greatest internationally renowned photojournalists, Mario Dondero (Milan, 1928 - Petritoli, 2015).

The photographer spent the last years of his life in Fermo, and the exhibition, which includes about eighty shots selected from those that marked his career, aims to present Dondero’s vast unpublished production. Most of the images on display are in fact visible to the public for the first time.

Mario Dondero. the rediscovered photos. Unpublished from the archive of life, this is the title of the exhibition, is the result of research and archiving accomplished by the managers of the Fermo Provincial Photo Library over the past five years.

The photographs are divided into seven thematic sections (Africa, Artists, Stock Exchanges, Cuba, Ireland, School and Theater) and there is also a series of famous portraits of some Fermo personalities. As well as a selection of color photographs of draftsmen and graphic designers that enriches the layout of this first exhibition in the Terminal named after the artist.

The exhibition is curated by the Provincial Photo Library and the cultural association Altidona Belvedere and is organized by the Municipality of Fermo in collaboration with the Marche Region Archival and Bibliographic Superintendence of Umbria and Marche; it is organized and produced by the Sistema Museo company.

It can be visited by the public until March 1, 2020.

Tickets: Full cumulative 8 euros (Dondero exhibition + Palazzo dei Priori museum center, Roman Cisterns + Palazzo Paccaroni + San Filippo church + L’Aquila Theater + Torre di Palme Archaeological Museum), reduced cumulative 6 euros. Full exhibition 4 euros; free for children under 13 and residents of the municipality of Fermo.
