Fano celebrates with an exhibition two great geniuses: Leonardo da Vinci and Vitruvius. July 11 through October 13, 2019.

From July 11 to October 13, 2019, the exhibition Leonardo and Vitruvius: Beyond the Circle and the Square will be open to the public in the Sala Morganti of the Museo del Palazzo Malatestiano in Fano. In Search of Harmony. The legendary drawings of the Codex Atlanticus. With this exhibition curated by Guido Beltramini, Francesca Borgo and Paolo Clini, the city of Fano celebrates the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death.

In Vitruvius’ hometown, the exhibition aims to investigate the relationship between Leonardo and Vitruvius’ famous text, displaying five drawings by the Tuscan genius from the Codex Atlanticus. The drawings will be joined by multimedia installations aimed at exalting the two great geniuses.



The da Vinci drawings range from engineering, architectural, hydraulic and military projects that Leonardo studied thanks to VitruviusDe architectura and are from the last decades of the 15th century to the early 16th century.

The exhibition is an opportunity to admire Leonardo’s precious autograph sheets.
