After Pisa(here the news) and Genoa(here the news), the exhibition Alfred Hitchcock in the films of Universal Pictures is set up in the spaces of theArengario in Monza until January 10, 2021.
Curated by Gianni Canova and produced and organized by ViDi - Visit Different in collaboration with the Municipality of Monza, the exhibition presents 70 photographs and special contents from the archives of the American Major that lead the public into the backstage of Hitchcock’s main films, uncovering curious details about the making of the most famous scenes, the use of the first special effects, the actors and the private life of the English director.
“Today Psycho turns sixty years old, and it doesn’t show it at all,” say Monza Mayor Dario Allevi and Councillor for Culture Massimiliano Longo. “How many of us have experienced, after watching Alfred Hitchcock’s iconic film, an inexplicable restlessness in taking a shower, perhaps behind an opaque curtain. Despite the black and white and despite more than half a century having passed, this cinematic masterpiece remains a cult. Hitchcock had the great ability to build on our fears a world of suspense capable and reaching our deepest unconscious. An atmosphere that we will be able to relive through the photos displayed in this extraordinary exhibition dedicated to one of the greatest directors of the last century.”
