The exhibition Altro come possibilità (Other as Possibility ) held at the Fortino in Forte dei Marmi is on view until Aug. 28. The exhibition is an exhibition of works by Emanuele Giannelli, a Roman-born and naturalized Versilia artist, consisting of sculptures and installations spanning the last ten years of his personal research, made with different materials, such as resin and bronze with lost-wax casting. With these works, Giannelli recounts the fate of a silent and alienated humanity, yet not without communicative tension.
For Giannelli, these works are “visions in the paradox of the future coarted by globalization, in contact with the world of great contemporary sculpture, experimenting with materials and techniques with curiosity and manual skill.”
“The proposal,” he continues, “is that of a figurative language that the artist places at the center of his artistic path in a mutant and free anatomy with respect to international languages, since in his sculptures he pursues his own and original ’genetic’ code of sculptural construction with basic creativity in the representation of universal man, in peculiar dilations that he molds into the material in conceptual citations and atmospheres, even literary ones.”
Curated by Andrea Barretta and organized by Massimo Ferrarotti, president of theSpirale d’idee Association in Milan, the exhibition is open daily from 6 to 11:30 p.m. with free admission.
