The Valley of the Temples Park in Agrigento and the monumental complex of Monreale Cathedral are hosting until November 4, 2018 the exhibition"Jan Fabre - Ecstasy & Oracles" curated by Joanna de Vos and Melania Rossi in close collaboration with Jan Fabre himself.
Over fifty works created by the artist between 1982 and 2018: series of pencil and bic pen drawings, sculptures of different materials, films with performances and mosaics with beetle armor. Also featured are two new works, “Schande übers Ganze Erdenreich!” and “Searching Oracle Stones.”
The exhibition is part of the CollateralEvents of Manifesta 12 and the bill of events of Palermo Italian Capital of Culture 2018. The project is organized by MondoMostre and promoted by the Sicilian Region - Regional Department of Cultural Heritage and Sicilian Identity, Department of Cultural Heritage and Sicilian Identity Siciliana, Superintendence of Cultural and Environmental Heritage of Palermo, Cultural Pole of Agrigento - in collaboration with the City of Palermo, the Archdiocese of Monreale, the Municipality of Monreale, the Municipality of Agrigento and the Archdiocese of Agrigento.
