From Tuesday, September 10 to Tuesday, September 17, 2019, the National Archaeological Museum “Domenico Ridola” in Matera will host the exhibition Leonardo Atlantico by Corrado Veneziano (Tursi, 1958).
Thirty works will be on display that combine phrases and images from Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Atlantic Codex: words and drawings evoked, taken up, extrapolated and then suspended in a blue that is impenetrable and modern universe. The drawings take up wheels, wings, arches and artillery cannons; and again personal notes, mathematical and alchemical operations. All this in the bluish background of Corrado Veneziano.
The exhibition, curated by Niccolò Lucarelli, Francesca Barbi Marinetti and Raffaella Salato, aims to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the genius’ passing. It has the recognition and support of Mibac, as well as the patronage of Fai Basilicata and the Fai Delegation of Matera.
