The Salone degli Incanti in Trieste will welcome the optical enigmas of Maurits Cornelis Escher from December 18, 2019 to June 7, 2020.
About two hundred works by the famous Dutch artist and graphic designer, among the most original personalities of the 20th century, will be on display at the major Trieste exhibition dedicated to him. His optical enigmas have influenced all fields of art: from records to comics, from advertising to cinema, from fashion to architecture.
Visitors will be protagonists in Escher’s world of perspective paradoxes, geometries and typical compositions. Restless, reserved and brilliant, Escher creates in his engravings and lithographs a unique, imaginative, impossible world within which art, mathematics, science, physics and design converge.
Curated by Federico Giudiceandrea, the exhibition is promoted and organized by the City of Trieste, Department of Culture and Arthemisia Group with Generali Valore Cultura, in collaboration with M.C. Escher Foundation and the support of PromoTurismoFVG.
