There is great anticipation for the exhibition to be held at Palazzo Strozzi from Sept. 21, 2017 to Jan. 21, 2018.
This is the third and final act in Palazzo Strozzi’s trilogy of exhibitions that began in 2010 with Bronzino and continued in 2014 with Pontormo and Rosso Fiorentino: The Sixteenth Century in Florence. Between Michelangelo, Pontormo and Giambologna, this is the title of the exhibition, will focus on 16th-century art in Florence, an era marked by the Council of Trent and the figure of one of Europe’s leading patrons, Francesco I de’ Medici.
More than seventy works created by artists such as Michelangelo, Bronzino, Rosso Fiorentino, Pontormo, Giambologna, and Vasari will be presented to tell the visitor about this extraordinary period.
The exhibition is curated by Carlo Falciani and Antonio Natali and will be open daily, including holidays, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets: full price 13 euros.
