From Saturday, August 3, 2019, the site-specificinstallation by Simone Pellegrini and Daniele Gagliardi will be visible to the public in the Castelnuovo Rangone Municipal Hall, on the occasion of the exhibition Vacanza Reticolare.
The intent of CRAC - Castelnuovo Rangone Arte Contemporanea is to break down physical barriers in order to allow full and uninterrupted enjoyment of the artistic works, freeing the visit to the exhibition from set times or days. In fact, this exhibition space allows the public to view the works at any time and on any day.
“The installation Vacanza Reticolare, designed by the two artists specifically for CRAC, investigates that particular threshold, that unstable instant that is created when two great forces that have interacted, undergo a dissipation, a ”shift,“ that changes their appearance,” said curator Alessandro Mescoli.
One of the two artists, Simone Pellegrini, wrote about this installation,"Reticular Vacation is a slippage, an unknown structural material void that takes place in absence. Time then, accuses the fall and in the general distraction in it a silent, desolate trace is imprinted. It happens forever, like a mineral secret in which to stumble twice with the eye in flood, weeping as it wanders. It is here a late, fragmentary, peripheral finding in which the then absent now agree. This exhibition is the occasion of a landslide, the tense measure between unequals who deliver themselves downstream of the imaginary, in the dryness and for the heatwave that corrals the living in the shadows and exposes the signs of their unavailability."
Daniele Gagliardi ’s compositions are in constant relationship with the environment, where they take on the symbolic value of volumes, ruins, dwellings. Assemblages of new or worn materials that betray every observer, hiding the secret of their origin.
Vacanza Reticolare is on view to the public until Oct. 5, with finissage scheduled at 5 p.m., in the presence of the two artists.
