Carrara, Vôtre's 2023 season kicks off. It starts with historic names and Mimosa's solo exhibition

The 2023 season of Vôtre Spazi Contemporanei, an important cultural reality in the area, has started in Carrara. From March 25 to May 13, the space will host the exhibition "Untitled" with works by Turcato, Dorazio, Gilardi and Simeti and the solo show "Mink Fur" by Mimosa.

Double date for Vôtre Spazi Contemporanei in Carrara, one of the most active and innovative contemporary art spaces in Tuscany. Vôtre kicks off the 2023 exhibition season at its Palazzo del Medico venue in Carrara with two projects, both of which can be visited from March 25 to May 13, 2023: the exhibition Untitled, featuring works by Piero Dorazio, Piero Gilardi, Turi Simeti and Giulio Turcato, and the solo show La Pelliccia di Visone by Mimosa, a pseudonym for artist Mattia Di Rosa (Carrara, 1969). Untitled takes place in the 18th-century rooms of Palazzo Del Medico, while Mimosa’s solo show takes place in the white cube space. Both exhibitions are curated by Nicola Ricci.

The Untitled exhibition brings together important works by some of the great protagonists of the art of the 1950s and 1960s, between the abstractionism of Turcato and Dorazio, the spatialism of Simeti and the Tappeti natura of Gilardi: sculpture and painting thus occupy the frescoes and stuccoes of the historic Carrarese palace. Mimosa, in the large hall of Palazzo Del Medico, instead exhibits his recent production with works in different formats: installations, colorful paintings that surrealistically reread passages of everyday realities, utopian visions, dreamscapes.

Nicola Ricci, former president of the Vôtre Association, which organizes the exhibitions (he was succeeded in the role this year by Enrico Marselli), announces for this year a busy calendar of exhibitions that will see alternating big names in thenational and international art, young and emerging artists and, new for the 2023 season, also ancient art that will be in dialogue with the contemporary, which will obviously remain Vôtre’s main focus. As early as April, however, there will be the launch of a new project of Vôtre’s Project Room : the Equidistant but Not Close program, which will begin with a group show of ten young artists who will present pictorial, photographic and mixed media drawings.

The two exhibitions will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.
