It will be an intense and festive three-day event scheduled in Brescia from Saturday, March 17 to Monday, March 19: at 10 a.m. on Saturday, in fact, there will be the ribbon-cutting and public opening of the new Tosio Martinengo Art Gallery, which reopens after a full nine years of closure. This is a very important museum, with a first-class collection that includes masterpieces by Raphael, Lorenzo Lotto, Luca Giordano, Vincenzo Foppa, Giacomo Ceruti, and Paolo Veneziano, as well as by the three great masters of the 16th-century Brescian school, Giovanni Gerolamo Savoldo, Moretto, and Romanino. Part of the collection, during its closure, was housed at the local Santa Giulia Museum, and now it will finally find its place in the rooms of the Pinacoteca, reopened thanks to the efforts of the Municipality of Brescia and the Brescia Musei Foundation, with the contribution of the Cariplo Foundation.
The program includes on Saturday 17 the ribbon-cutting ceremony and the inauguration in the presence of the authorities: then, from 2 to 8 p.m., the public will have free access to the Pinacoteca, and the same will happen on Sunday 18 and Monday 19 with two more days of free admission, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (however, reservations are always required: to do so, it is mandatory to fill out the form on the Pinacoteca website. It is not possible to reserve more than four admissions at a time. However, you can also book in person by going to the Santa Giulia Museum’s Single Reservation Center, open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or to the Tourism and Mobility Info Point at Via Trieste 1, daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.). Also on Sunday, March 18, at 5:30 p.m., there will be a concert-show(free admission) "Showing the world the vain error of men: women in Brescia between the 1400s and 1500s," by the Associazione Celacanto, at the Lower Church of the Sanctuary of Sant’Angela Merici.
