Inaugurated yesterday at the Chiostro del Bramante in Rome the highly anticipated exhibition dedicated to one of the most representative artists of 1980s New York culture-Jean-Michel Basquiat.
On display until July 2, 2017 will be about 100 works, which Basquiat created between 1981 and 1987, from the Mugrabi Collection that will present the origins and importance of street art and graffiti.
A production in which painting and writing coexist to denounce the racism and forms of power of those years.
Curated by Gianni Mercurio and Mirella Panepinto, the exhibition is promoted by the Assessorato alla Crescita culturale - Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali and is produced and organized by DART Chiostro del Bramante and Gruppo Arthemisia in collaboration with Mugrabi Collection.
The catalog is published by Skira.
