At the Pomodoro Foundation, Caroline Mesquita's innovative sculpture for the Project Room 2019 cycle

From September 18 to October 31, 2019, the second event of the Project Room 2019 cycle is held at the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro: Hideway by Caroline Mesquita.

From September 18 to October 31, 2019, the second round of the PROJECT ROOM 2019 exhibition cycle will open with the exhibition Hideaway by Caroline Mesquita (Brest, 1989). The Project Rooms aim to propose the research and production of artists under 40 who investigate sculpture in innovative ways.

The Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation, in collaboration with the Fondazione del Giudice, has given the French artist the opportunity to produce a new monumental sculpture and to use materials never before seen in her production, such as stone.

In fact, the installation is made using light-colored beola, an ancient stone of Lombard origin that covers the entire surface of the Pomodoro Foundation, and objects in bronze and brass, carefully selected by the artist, including some from the Fonderia Nolana del Giudice di Nola (Naples), where the work was produced.

Hideaway is a museum space that proposes a particular stone structure of uncertain chronological location. A structure intended to represent the solitude of the individual in contrast to the collective dimension of the city within which it is incorporated.
