On view until March 3, 2019 at the Museo di Roma in Trastevere is the first exhibition dedicated to Lisetta Carmi (Genoa, 1924) entitled“Lisetta Carmi. The Beauty of Truth.”
The retrospective aims to acquaint the public with the photographer ’s activity through three nuclei of works on three different themes: the Parisian metro, transvestites and Sicily.
Also exhibited will be the best-known works characterized by acareful observation of reality, such as the images taken in 1964 in the Port of Genoa that testify to the work in the postwar period.
The project"Erotism and Authoritarianism in Staglieno" presents the famous monumental cemetery. Also featured are many unpublished images dedicated to portraits of artists and cultural figures.
About 170 images for an exhibition curated by Giovanni Battista Martini, promoted by Roma Capitale, Assessorato alla Crescita culturale - Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali and organized by Zètema Progetto Cultura.
