At the Museum of Rome, Gabriella Siciliano's site-specific installation for La Quadriennale

Through Jan. 12, 2023, the Museum of Rome at Palazzo Braschi presents Gabriella Siciliano's site-specific installation. It is the fourth exhibition of the Portfolio section of Quotidiana, a program promoted by the Quadriennale di Roma.

The Museum of Rome at Palazzo Braschi presents until January 12, 2023 the fourth exhibition of the Portfolio section of Quotidiana, the exhibition program on contemporary Italian art promoted by the Quadriennale di Roma and Roma Culture, Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali.

The protagonist is Gabriella Siciliano (Naples, 1990): the artist expresses herself mostly through site-specific installations, which have as their object the contradictions of contemporary society. She investigates them with an ironic slant, dwelling on the distortions underlying the modern concepts of commodity, labor, entertainment. Thepop aesthetic is one of his most recurrent features of his production and becomes an expedient to make even more jarring the tragic and melancholic overtones that stem from a substantial detachment from one’s body, from nature and from an ancestral sense of community.

Quotidiana is part of the 95th anniversary program of the Quadriennale, for which the Quadriennale di Roma received a grant from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - Mission Structure for the enhancement of national anniversaries and the participatory dimension of new generations. The exhibition program involves from September 2022 the two rooms on the ground floor of the Museum of Rome, open to the public with a palimpsest of exhibitions, conceived and produced by the Quadriennale, with the intention of delving into some significant orientations of Italian art of the 21st century. In the entrance hall, which connects the two rooms, there is a reading space where critical texts developed by the curators are available to the public.
