At Palazzo Cipolla great artists of the past in dialogue with digital artists

Palazzo Cipolla in Rome will host the exhibition "Ipotesi Metaverso" from April 5 to July 23, 2023: works by historical artists will alternate with works by the most creative and innovative digital artists of the contemporary Italian and international scene.

From April 5 to July 23, 2023, Palazzo Cipolla in Rome will host the exhibition Ipotesi Metaverso, curated by Gabriele Simongini and Serena Tabacchi, promoted by the Fondazione Terzo Pilastro - Internazionale, chaired by Prof. Avv. Emmanuele F. M. Emanuele, and realized by Poema SpA.

Great artists of the past meet contemporaries on the terrain of imagination and the creation of new spatial dimensions. The 19th-century rooms of Palazzo Cipolla will feature works by historic artists, including Andrea Pozzo, Giovanni Battista Piranesi, Maurits Cornelis Escher, Giacomo Balla, Umberto Boccioni, and Giorgio de Chirico alongside some of the most creative and innovative of the contemporary Italian and international scene, pioneers of the movement related todigital native art, metapoets, musicians experimenting with generative algorithms, passing through avatars born and raised in the Metaverse, key figures of the new multimedia and multisensory artistic current.

An immersion in the minds of creators of worlds from the Baroque to the present, from Europe, Asia, the United States, South America, and the Middle East, which intends to transform every space in the palace into a physical and mental journey; capsules that will lead the viewer to immerse themselves within worlds and visions through painting, sculpture, digital art, dance, poetry, music, to artificial intelligence. Each digital work is conceived as a site-specific project, linked to the space of the Palace and in harmony with the rest of the exhibition itinerary.

The exhibition will offer a series of multisensory and multimedia experiences, visions of possible worlds created by the genius of national and international artists, in dialogue with works from the past by painters who imagined other “realities,” starting with the Baroque. Digital/immersive experience and physical, “material” experience will short-circuit, with the intention of stimulating the visitor to question the perceptual modes of today and the future.

Hours: Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Closed Mondays.
