On the occasion of the 240th anniversary of Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, an exhibition telling the story of the famous theater linked to that of the Lombard city opened on December 4, 2018.
The Magnificent Factory. 240 Years of the Teatro alla Scala from Piermarini to Botta, this is the title of the exhibition, will present to the public the development of the theater, from its birth to its transformations. From Piermarini ’s initial stage theater to architect Botta’s recent renovation, which has maintained a balance between constant renovation and preservation of a historical-architectural heritage that is now the heritage of all humanity. The latter’s project will also soon be completed with thebuilding on Via Verdi with new spaces for artistic, technical and administrative activities.
The exhibition will be promoted on streetcars through the slogan"Monument in Motion"-a playful way to highlight the theater’s dynamic nature and its connection to Milan.
The exhibition can be visited until April 30, 2019, daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
