Galleria Bianconi in Milan presents until July 8, 2022 a double solo exhibition entitled Wormhole that relates the work of two artists, Szilvia Bolla (Budapest, 1992) and Gioia Di Girolamo (Pescara, 1984).
The starting point of the two artists’ work is female corporeality, its surface, its transformation into vital energy, to access another dimension in which material and immaterial, real and virtual, corporeal and incorporeal, connect and merge, transcending in a continuous flow of communication and multiplication.
Bolla’s and Di Girolamo’s works transform the Gallery into a Wormhole, a space-time tunnel on whose walls stand out the soft organic, metallic, reflective and iridescent forms of Gioia Di Girolamo’s Filter Bubbles, in which the silhouettes of a possible humanity seem to appear alien and virtual that is sucked in and drawn toward the center of the distorted gallery space by the swirls of Szilvia Bolla’s Infinite Vytal Energies plexiglass and metal sculptures.
The energetic seed from which everything arises and which generates this connection between the physical and the virtual, between a dimension governed by the constants of time and space valid in everyday reality and one in which nothing we take for granted has any value anymore, is the biological sphere of the artists’ own bodies, which, with Di Girolamo’s Density and Szilvia Bolla’s Skin of my skin, flesh of my flesh works, makes the viewer enter the deepest folds of its surface, operating a process of miniaturization that will lead, with the NFTs Sys::Run_1 and Sys::Run_2 by Gioia Di Girolamo, to enter the bloodstream that will later turn out to be non-human.
