From July 3 to September 16, 2019, the MANN in Naples is hosting the exhibition 'Assyrians in the Shadow of Vesuvius.

From July 3 to September 16, 2019, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples (MANN) will host the exhibition The Assyrians in the Shadow of Vesuvius . The exhibition, organized in synergy with theUniversity "L’Orientale," will not only feature artifacts from prestigious institutions including the British Museum, theAshmolean Museum, the Vatican Museums and the Royal Museums of Turin, but will also include the presentation of casts, which belong to the MANN collections and reproduce the original reliefs found in Nineveh and Nimrud.

Curated by Simonetta Graziani, the exhibition aims to present to the public the Assyrian heritage of the MANN, starting with the circumstances under which it arrived in Naples, and of course to delve into some aspects related to this important civilization of the past.



Peculiarity of the exhibition will be the setting up of a rich technological section, aimed at deepening scientific contents and involving the visitor in an evocative journey back in time.
