Artissima launches the virtual project /ge-ne-a-lo-gì-a/ aimed at spreading the message that art does not stop and is able to transcend physical barriers to continue to tell its story and propose new and positive content through digital.

/ge-ne-a-lo-gì-a/ is a project designed for Artissima’s Instagram profile, which intends to build day by day an intimate and personal"family tree" ofcontemporary Italian art. Starting on March 18, every day an artist chosen among those who presented their works in the Deposito d’Arte Italiana Presente at Artissima 2017 will be asked to point out two artists on the Italian scene to whom they feel particularly close, electing one as their ideal reference and one as their heir.

A story made of direct relationships and distant glances, of inspirations and homages, the project will tell an imaginative behind-the-scenes story of Italian contemporary art.

During this period of emergency, in which artists nevertheless continue to create, a digital database accessible to all will be born.
