A major exhibition on Romanticism, simply titled Romanticism, will be held this fall-winter in Milan, from October 26, 2018 to March 17, 2019, over two venues: the Gallerie d’Italia in Piazza Scala and the Poldi Pezzoli Museum.
The exhibition is curated by Fernando Mazzocca, a great expert on the art of the early 19th century, and promises to be the first exhibition in Italy to deal with the subject in such a systematic way: 200 works by Italian and foreign artists, from Hayez to Corot, from Turner to Molteni, some of which will be shown to the public for the first time. The exhibition also aims to serve as an invitation to get to know Romantic Milan, to discover places and personalities that made it the Italian capital of Romanticism.
The exhibition will be officially presented to the press on Tuesday, September 11. Updates will follow.
