Andy Warhol's icons are on display at Pontedera's Palazzo Pretorio

The exhibition Andy Warhol. Icons! comes to Tuscany: from November 10, 2021 to March 20, 2022, the 140 works by the master of Pop Art can be admired at PALP Palazzo Pretorio in Pontedera (Pisa). Andy Warhol (Pittsburgh, 1928 - New York, 1987), a multifaceted artist among the most influential protagonists of the 20th century, a curious storyteller of mass society and dazzling sociologist of 1960s America, was able to transform the fetishes of the American collective imagination into art, anticipating the establishment of the power of mass media. Andy Warhol photographer, filmmaker, designer and illustrator, the father of Pop Art who turned Coca Cola, Elvis Presley, Campbell’s Soup, Liz Taylor and Marilyn Monroe, the dollar bill and Jackie Kennedy into icons.

Under the patronage of the Region of Tuscany, produced by the Municipality of Pontedera, PALP Palazzo Pretorio in Pontedera, and the Foundation for Culture Pontedera, the exhibition is produced and organized by Piuma, in collaboration with Art Motors, and is curated by Nicolas Ballario and Edoardo Falcioni. The exhibition has Knauf as a sponsor and Ecofor as a partner.

Andy Warhol. ICONS! is the exhibition chosen this year to reinforce the cultural and urban art project Natale ad Arte - Pontedera 2021, promoted by the Fondazione per la Cultura Pontedera, in collaboration with the Municipality of Pontedera, under the direction of Alberto Bartalini, which aims to reknit the thread of the path called Arte per non Dormire (Art not to Sleep ) with the goal of setting up in the squares and streets of Pontedera a quality project open to the enjoyment of residents and visitors. For this edition, an undisputed champion such as Andy Warhol was chosen to increase the already excellent artistic proposal that Natale ad Arte - Pontedera 2021 wants to offer its citizens.

The Natale ad Arte - Pontedera 2021 project sees the contribution of Ecofor Service, Federighi Barbara, Intergomma, Crastan, Alilaser, Lemass Holding, DLG MOVE, Revet, Blu Palace, Aura Petroli, Dama Retail, 4F Group, Valdera Gestioni, CA.PA.TER, Casa di Cura Privata San Rossore, Blanc Mariclò, Manutencoop Società Cooperativa, Officina OM di Bernardini e Balducci, Palumbo Auto, Giustiauto Srl, Lenergy, Locatelli Saline di Volterra, Sale di Volterra, Agenzia Immobiliare Belfiore, Gruppo Lupi, La Pecora di Massimiliano, H.T.A, Novicrom Construction.
