The exhibition “Archimedes in Syracuse” opens May 26 at the Montevergini Civic Gallery in Syracuse.The exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with one of the most ingenious figures in the entire history of mankind and will allow, thanks to the most advanced multimedia applications, to immerse themselves in the city of Syracuse in the third century B.C., when it was a real capital of Magna Graecia and the central Mediterranean, where the great scientist lived, conceived his extraordinary inventions and was finally killed by a Roman soldier who had just entered the city as a conqueror.

A series of animations designed by Lorenzo Lopane and created withInda students bring alive the presence of the ancient Syracusans and among them the great scientist.Open to the public until Dec. 31, 2019, the exhibition is conceived by the Museo Galileo and curated by Giovanni Di Pasquale with scientific advice from Giuseppe Vo za and Cettina Pipitone Voza, promoted by the City of Syracuse and produced by Civita Mostre with Opera Laboratori Fiorentini and the collaboration of UnitàC1 and theNational Institute of Ancient Drama of Syracuse.
